  • 5 whiskey tasting for the wife's birthday. It was really phenomenal. JD was our whiskey guide, he started with a run down of different countries and types of whiskey, then talked about how to taste, and then asked us a few questions about our taste preferences to guide the whiskey selection. It was very informal but incredibly informative. JD is very knowledgable, friendly and entertaining. We talked about enough different things during the first two parts that he accurately guessed my answers to the tasting preference questions, which was impressive. The whiskey selections included a few I probably never would have tried but really enjoyed. Overall it was an amazing night. Will be recommending this to friends. Most importantly, I feel that regardless of your level of knowledge, the fact that he can nail your taste preferences so well makes this a must try for anyone, if for no other reason than to sample from such a huge selection of whisky/whiskey. Also, the tasting method is very different than what's taught in the bourbon trail tours, and I actually prefer it to the traditional method. If you're willing to give it a shot, it really works well.
