| - Came here because Mesa Grill didn't have availability and we love BurGR. They only had room for us at the cocktail tables, and the stools were very squishy and sinking down, but had hard edges, so my legs kept falling asleep.
Our server was very friendly, but our food was somewhat slow to come out. With the location right on the casino floor, there was a man smoking a large cigar in line to get a rewards card, and the smoke cloud was almost intolerable, of course our food finally came out while the smoke cloud was hanging over us.
The food was very good. We ordered a NY strip that was surprisingly tender for a NY and cooked perfectly, but had a chunk of gristle. It was very good value compared to Mesa Grill, maybe not quite as good, but also much cheaper. Asparagus cooked well. Peppercorn sauce had an overwhelming rosemary flavor, but was good.
The pub chopped salad was also good. I think for a similar price, Cheesecake Factory has a better salad, and their portions are three times as big. The menu indicated the salad had apples, which I do not remember on the salad. The ham was more like strips of salami perhaps? It was very good, though.
The mashed potatoes were good, but the STAR of the show was the mushroom side with poached egg. This is brilliant! The egg, and I think chanterelle mushrooms, had similar texture and it was a wonderful and unexpected combination. Loved that.
The server wasn't able to adequately describe the toffee pudding. She described it as a cake. Maybe it was; her description was vague enough that I didn't want to try it.
If I were to return, I'd make sure I had a reservation and ask to be seated farther into the restaurant. I think I'd try the fish and chips next time. They looked fantastic.
