  • I used to enjoy bringing my kids to BLD. They have decent food, playgrounds and nice grassy areas. More recently they have raised the Team Fees by $100 which is rediculous given how much we already pay! Plus 3.00 to enter ( even if your going to watch) I can deal with the high cost given that they have batting cages and pretty nice fields. Today BLD hit a new low. A regular group of people were smoking Marijuana on wrigley during the first and second game, the umpire was asked to stop them, he laughed and said he would report it to the director. He didn't report it and he later made jokes about it. I guess for the individuals smoking it doesn't matter that my 11 and 12 year olds were within close enough distance. Now my kids identify BLD as the place where people do drugs. Thanks guys! I work really hard to educate and raise my kids to grow up to be decent people not thinking using drugs is glamorous. I'm not naive enough to think my kids won't try weed at some point but it would be nice if strangers didn't decide when they would be exposed to it. Not to mention my older child told me the same group of people were smoking marijuana the week before. To top all of this off Chris ( who is the main director in charge at this location) was standing near the dugout for a good 30 mins while they were smoking a second time. It was pretty obvious none of the employees had any issue with this. Also I wasn't surprised by the umpires reaction because it's the same reaction when they make terrible calls all day or are on their cell phones instead of watching a play and they just laugh it off like they don't even care! Good times... Not! Thanks for ripping people off daily BLD!
