| - Piff the Magic Dragon is playing at the Flamingo Hotel, Bugsy's Carbaret Theater (since 2015). Piff the Magic Dragon is from London and was on America's Got Talent (sadly he did not win) and Penn & Teller's Fool Us (where I first learned about this magician). This magician's real name is John van der Put. Eventually he created his Piff the Magic Dragon stage name and persona, with his cute dog dressed in matching attire.
Now for this show, the line for this magic show is actually in the back (where the elevators are) and not in the front (the front side is where you will find both the ladies' and men's restroom). I just thought it was important to mention this since I saw numerous of people waiting in the wrong place and there is no one to direct patrons to the other side entrance.
My husband and I saw this magic show on our most recent trip to Sin City (Las Vegas) last Sunday evening. We purchased discounted tickets at one of those 1/2 off ticket booths for the 8 pm show. We were advised to come at least 30 minutes early to secure a close seat to the stage since seating is first come, first seated (unless you pay extra for the VIP experience where you get to come in 1 hour before the show and meet Piff the magician and sit in the front row. VIP experience is not an option to purchase at the 1/2 off ticket booth by the way). My husband and I ended up waiting in line 1 hour before the show and found ourselves to be the first ones and were seated in the 2nd row. The view from this row was fine and do not feel it is necessary to pay extra for the VIP experience.
Anyways, the run time of this show is about 80 minutes, with no intermission. Drink orders are not taken during the show, but there is a bar right next door to the theater (yes by the entrance of this show) and you are more than welcomed to bring them inside.
Although this is a magic show, we only saw probably 6 or 7 actual tricks (some done by the cute and talented Mr. Piffles, his adopted chihuahua). Piff provided a lot of comedy through jokes with his sarcastic, blunt humor. He also had a good interaction with the audience throughout the show.
But to be honest, I just thought the show was just average. There was a lot of predicted and expected tricks/ jokes. But being the dog crazy person that I am, I really was there to see Mr. Piffles (the magic was just the bonus). My husband really enjoyed the show though, humor and all. He definitely laughed all throughout the show (and he was sober folks).
At the end of the show, Piff and his beloved dog were available for photos afterwards. Luckily my husband darted out quickly (I told him too) to get in line for photos so we did not have to wait long. I love that Mr. Piffles is so calm and docile (Mr. Piffles is currently 10 years ago).
If you are interested in seeing Piff's show, be sure to look up his show schedule on Flamingo's website. Because Piff does tour around the world to perform, he does not always have a consistent set schedule.
