| - I tried Katie's Laundry Service for the first time this weekend. Now, the caveat is that this is the first time I've EVER done a laundry service, so I went in with no expectations.
Overall, I was really impressed. They were patient with me in explaining how things went and set expectations because I requested some clothes to be line dried - and my clothes were ready four hours before promised!
I also loved that you could prepay for a discount and be notified via email when they were ready. Super convenient.
I didn't have to separate any clothes, except those that needed to be line dried.
When picking up, the presentation was spectacular. A few items were hung on hangers, but the rest were perfectly folded in shopping bags. Underwear, bras and socks were all shrink wrapped. The socks were even matched and neatly lined up, which made folding and putting away easy.
The price wasn't bad - for about 5-6 loads (including 6-7 pair of jeans), I paid $48. Pretty good when you consider the entire process took me 1 hour (prepping clothes to transport, taking them to my car, dropping off/picking up and putting away) compared to 4-5 hours if I did it myself (I live in an apartment with a communal laundry room on the floor below me).
The only downside is the shared parking lot, I had to circle the block a couple of times to get a spot, but had no problem getting one when I picked up - just depends on when you go.
