| - I had heard/read mixed reviews of The Estate House, so while the menu looked enticing, I wasn't quite sure if it would live up to my expectations. Let me tell you that it did.
Food:
We started with the Burrata a la Panna, burrata mozzarella cheese served with red peppers and toasted bread. DELISH! I ordered the Organic Irish Salmon and it was served with spinach and fingerling potatoes (I believe... I was so enthralled with the salmon I didn't really notice what else was there). My date ordered the filet, and while I thought it was a little on the small side, it was cooked perfectly and very tender. We ordered a side of asparagus thinking we would need it but it was unnecessary, delicious nonetheless.
Service:
Impeccable. Partly because we were one of only four occupied tables in the entire dining room. Regardless, we felt so taken care of and could not have been happier. Everyone, from the ladies who served the bread to the manager and hostess welcomed us and made us feel at home.
Ambiance:
The restaurant has this lovely east coast beach-y feel; sun bleached wooden floorboards, dark wood accents and interesting decorations.
Plus:
I mentioned that it was our two year anniversary when I made the reservation and they brought us the Bourbon Pecan Bread Pudding (what I was planning on ordering anyway) and the chocolate decoration had "Happy Anniversary" printed on it.
While the prices are a bit steep, if you'd like somewhere for a special occasion that is in walking distance to other bars/night spots then give The Estate House a try, you won't be disappointed!
