| - Based on just my most recent experience at Jos. A. Bank in Middleton, I would give them a 5-star rating; unfortunately, though, a previous less-than-stellar customer service experience I had there has left a lingering bad taste in my mouth, so a cumulative 4 stars it is. That being said:
Without exception: When you go to this location, work with JON VINJE. He is kind, patient, and, most important, knows dress clothes and how they should fit.
Most recently, I went in looking for a traditional navy blue suit to wear at my new job in the financial sector, and he quickly pulled two beautiful suits for me to try. Without wasting my time while he looked through all of the options hanging in the store, he went immediately to the two he knew would fit me best, and he was right: both of the suits he pulled fit my body well, even though they were different cuts. I ended up buying the first suit he pulled for me, and, other than some minor alterations I'll have to get done, the suit fits me perfectly right out of the store.
I had such a great experience working with Jon on my navy suit that I decided to look at buying an additional suit and some dress shirts while in the store. We discussed some color options that would expand my current collection, and then he pulled one suit -- just one -- and I ended up buying it because it's perfect. Same thing on the shirts: he pulled one style, I tried it on, it was perfect, so I got two in that style.
Because I'm moving, I'll be getting the suits fitted by a local tailor in my new location, so can't give feedback on how well this Jos. A. Banks does with alterations.
Thanks for a great experience, Jon!
More general feedback about the store:
+ They have lots of great sales throughout the year, so there's no reason, really, to ever buy full price.
+ They have a good selection of styles and colors in all of their products: shirts, pants, suits, coats, sweaters, etc.
+ Convenient location in Greenway Station
The fitting rooms are pretty small, and there's only one mirror shared between the 3, so you'll have to share the mirror with someone(s) else if other people are also trying on clothes.
Be forewarned that, if you go during the "Buy One Get ___ Free" sale, you may have trouble finding anything other than black or grey suits in popular sizes.
