Took my niece to brunch here before seeing "Breakfast at Tiffany's" at FilmBar. We were going to go to Matt's Big Breakfast but that place always has such a long line outside, I've only been able to withstand the wait once. So Bliss it was. I had been to ReBar on a few occasions, mostly on First Fridays. Its a great patio. The bar is big and round and constructed around a rebar fountain-shaped sculpture with bougainvillea growing in it. Clever and pleasing to the eye. But I'd never been to the restaurant next door. We got right in. My niece settled on the french toast. It is made with pretzel bread, covered in cream cheese frosting and berries and comes with 2 strips of bacon. It also came with maple syrup which when poured over the dish seemed to me a bit of sugar overkill.....but my niece loved it. I tried to order the eggs Benedict, my favorite breakfast food, but was told they no longer were going to have it on the menu but hadn't taken it off yet. That bummed me out kinda. Take it off the menu if you don't want your waiters to have to explain all day long that your patrons can't have what they want to order. I ordered a grilled cheese with tomatoes. Unfortunately, they put slices of apple on there too, which I guess I overlooked as being a part of the dish on the menu. Unfortunately, I don't like the combo of tomatoes and apples and picked all the apples out. It came with a perfectly fine mixed green salad. Our waiter was affable and attentive to us when our beverages were getting low. I'd go back and order other items....I just really wanted that eggs Benedict.
