  • My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed Phantom Fright Nights last Sunday. The weather was rainy and cold through the evening and that didn't stop us from having a great time. We were only slightly disappointed that a few attractions were closed due to weather. Haunted Ark - this exhibit was fun with blacklight enhancements and a few surprises in the different animal pens. Check out those lions! Biofear - this attraction was loud and seemed to be one of the shortest exhibits. Mortem Manor - we went through this attraction twice. It looked like a haunted cabin and we really enjoyed this one. Villa of the Vampire - this attraction seemed to be the most scary since it was the darkest throughout and had a lot of fog. We went into this exhibit first when we arrived at 6pm and there were 3 different times we saw workers still getting ready inside the exhibit. That took something away from the scare factor. Fear Fest - there were some frightening clowns here! Voodoo Bayou - we were looking forward to this attraction the most since I read online about the escape room, however this exhibit was closed due to weather. The most disappointing thing about the evening were the potato patch fries. I remember these being one of the highlights of our visits to Kennywood. The fries lacked flavor even though we asked for onion seasoning and the gravy tasted like water. When we asked for cheese to replace the gravy, the worker looked extremely annoyed with our request and got it reluctantly. We almost asked for our money back since the fries were NOT worth $7! The 7 workers at this booth were standing around looking bored and unhappy. We got to take multiple back-to-back rides on the Volcano and Sky Rocket which made up for the other exhibit closures. Overall the workers had great costumes and makeup throughout the park. We had a lot of fun!
