As soon as I saw hello kitty macaroons I told my husband we are taking a road trip downtown next week.
The location is a bit odd as it's nestled in a residential neighbourhood without too many businesses near by. We talked to the owner and learned that he moved to Toronto from Vancouver because it was too slow and boring for him which begs the question, why open shop here? There's nothing around!
We ordered almost everything they have - waffles, macaron, lavender latte and Vietnamese coffee Creme brûlée. I have to say, I've had better. The fillings of the macaroons were too sweet and creamy for my taste. The waffle is decent but it was served borderline cold, would have been better if it was a bit warmer and crispy. I love trying different and exotic flavours of cream brûlée but I think I should of stick to the original flavour instead of trying to be adventurous. The Vietnamese coffee wasn't my cup of tea.
Overall, it's worth a visit if you are in the downtown vicinity but don't make a trek here if you are an hour drive away like me.
