U-haul is popular and so when I needed a truck to move some couches I immediately thought of them. The customer rep on the phone directed me to this location and made a reservation for the size of the truck that I needed.
When I got there, they didn't have my truck. Ok, what was the point of a reservation? Luckily, as we were doing my paperwork someone was returning the truck so the rep said "oh it's here."
When I got my truck, she informed me there was only 1/4 fuel in my tank. She mention that never happens, but because we just got it we don't have time to put fuel in it. Ok, was that supposed to make me feel better ? Once again, I made a reservation so weren't you expecting someone to rent this truck out.
I don't blame her personally, but I feel the process or the conversation could've been much smoother or she could've accommodated me better. I think I rather her say "shit happens" because that's how I felt.
One person I did meet was Caesar outside. He does the walk through of the truck with you. Super friendly and super patient, he even noticed the mileage was incorrect and the fuel was ACTUALLY LOWER than 1/4 a tank ... he fixed it for me no problems.
Overall, the truck did its job.
My recommendations ...
1. Make a reservation ... then call ahead before you head there
2. ALWAYS check your mileage and fuel tank ... LOOK for Caesar he was nice
3. If you need help moving there are a bunch of guys looking for work there willing to help you out
