The employees at this location have caused me to change my morning routine permanently- which is not easy to do.
I have started frequenting other coffee places (and there are many great ones) and when I'm really wanting a Starbucks, I go out of my way to patronize other stores.
I used to buy via mobile order about 3-4 times a week on my way to work...for years! I moved to this side of Gilbert and had to change things up, this became my default store.
The employees here are so rude and hostile (with a few kind exceptions, sorry!) that I began to DREAD walking in there to pick up my mobile order. Honestly, the way they would avoid eye contact and personal response made me feel like some kind of bag lady on a subway car. Nowhere else in my happy little universe have I ever been so consistently treated with contempt. And it's not like I was rude or offensive- I literally only ever ordered via the app, came to the pickup area and politely waited (sometimes for MANY minutes) to be acknowledged or even to get someone to make eye contact with me.
I have complained to corporate- they apologize and give free drinks. I feel very fortunate that I can afford to buy all the coffee I want and would much rather pay for it with even the level of kindness and professionalism show at the nearby Gas station than suffer the indignity of these employees ever again for multiple free coffees.
