| - I came here while on a business trip a few weeks ago. Having never been to Charlotte, one of my coworkers picked it out. I wasn't sure what to think at first because it was located in part of a larger building (I think it was a museum?) That's probably the only gripe I had about this place.
As for the decor, it was somewhat dark, but not dark enough that I couldn't read the menu or see my companions. The furniture was fitting with the rest of the restaurant and included this really cool looking wooden table in the middle that looked like a split log. The music in the background set the mood and wasn't intrusive.
Now for the food. We asked the waiter for suggestions, and ordered all the small plates he suggested. I think he also recommended the stuffed rabbit but all of us didn't feel comfortable eating that, being from the northeast. I don't remember all of them, but there was a delicious sausage plate, seafood/mushroom plate, blue cheese plate, and a great flatbread. Everything looked small at first, but was actually quite filling by the end of the dinner. All of the ingredients tasted fresh and were cooked perfectly.
The service was excellent, with the food coming on a timely manner and the waiters treating us with courtesy.
We each got the "Some Pig" cocktail, which was Maker's Mark with a strip of bacon. The bacon didn't really make it taste all that different, but hey, who doesn't like bacon? I would definitely come here again!
