| - I'm reviewing the way a nurse handled a medical concern about my daughter...
I called this morning at 9:02 am to make an appt for my daughter with Dr. Ojha; she's the doctor we always choose to see and only have wonderful things to say about her. I completely trust her judgement, her vast knowledge and professionalism while being super sweet and compassionate with kids and their parents.
I talked to the receptionist (also sympathetic and sweet) and she told me she'll forward the message to the nurse, so we can talk about the issue and arrange an appt with Dr. Ojha for my daughter.
The nurse returned my call at 4:07 pm; I know my daughter doesn't have high fever nor she's vomiting, etc., but my concern is genuine and I think it deserves some relevance up to some extent.
I didn't like at all how bitter and tough this nurse was (I didn't ask for a name, my bad!); actually I was in shock this person deals with concerned parents (God forbid her dealing with children!). At least she can make an effort and show some level of compassion! The only thing she cared about was if my child was insured, not the case so what?! I'm not asking anyone to pay anything for the appt, I'm paying in full and it's my business and money not hers. I tried to explain the situation, but she couldn't care less and she was very cutting "I called to tell you I will inform the doctor about the situation, so she can decide if she wants to see your daughter or how to proceed in this case".
I bet Dr. Ojha won't have an issue checking my daughter, but the way the nurse put it was like they are doing me a favor... Well, thank you but I'm paying for the doctor's time and I guess it's my call not anybody else's!
I've been with Cactus Children's for many years, and I truly value, admire and respect our doctor and staff but this nurse is utterly disappointing!
