| - As a SF Bay Area transplant, I've eaten at many wonderful asian restaurants including, of course, Thai. I 've been to Malee's about 4-5 times now, and each meal has been better than the last. The Tom Gai soup is the best I've had. Some of the other standouts I've had at Malee's include Arizona Heat Wave, which is spicy but not unbearably so. Tender chicken with a red curry base, coconut milk and traditional spices. So rich you will even want to eat it for dessert. I also loved the Satay. This past Autumn there was a wonderful pumpkin custard for dessert. I was fortunate to take one of their recent cooking classes, taught by their menu designer (who is from Thailand if I recall correctly) and the owner herself. To my delight, I was able to replicate the delicious Arizona Heat Wave at home. But I still plan to keep going back to Malee's whenever possible. Not just for the food; Malee's atmosphere is warm and comfortable with fun exotic touches, and some of the friendliest staff. A great place for people watching, too, both inside and afterwards, while strolling through the art district.
