  • Multigym is pretty awful. I inquired a while back about joining and the guy on the phone (who came across like a sleazy used car salesman) insisted that if I wanted the special membership price, I would have to tell him exactly the 3 days a week that I was going to work out as well as the exact times. I actually thought he was joking, but he was completely serious! I calmly and politely explained to him that Montreal has gyms on every street corner with better or the same deals as his (year round) without outrageous policies invented over drinks by delusional business owners. He also tried to charge a sign-up fee of $50 or $100 - depending on what seemed like made up scenarios. I had to ask him: How could you have the nerve to try to to charge me for giving you my business? Avoid at all costs. I joined the YMCA and have been incredibly happy ever since.
