I was visiting my parents in Pittsburgh and they brought me here knowing I love tapas. When we came it appeared that they had not taken down our reservation (despite calling twice) and it was a scramble to find us a table, but since they have a large bar area we were fine to wait. The atmosphere is nice - nothing special but with pretty views of the river and attractive wood accents.
Having spent time living in Spain I admit I am spoiled when it comes to Castilian food, so I always expect to be a little disappointed. This time was no exception. The food was OK, not great. Everything lacked that extra umph of flavor. In fact I cant even remember what we ordered because it was so underwhelming. The American cuisine being served looked better so perhaps the trick is to order simply.
The biggest downfall of the place was just the pace. It took forever to get drinks, then to order, then to get the food, then finally to get the check. I would advise not coming here if you have immediate plans because it was extremely slow moving.
Try it out. Maybe we were there on an off night. But if you are in the market for more authentic Spanish tapas in Pittsburgh, head to Majorca/Ibiza in the South Side.
