I have been looking for a taiyaki style place for some time. I blame it on youtube/instagram because the desserts look amazing. I was happy to stumble upon this place on yelp. I am happy that the location is close to UNLV rather than all the way in Summerlin/ Henderson (basically anywhere far from my house). Plus this part needs some nicer eateries. It is located near flamingo and Maryland Parkway in the shopping area of Max's, CVS, etc. It is a hole in the wall some keep a sharp eye out.
Now to business. I got the original honk Kong egglet $5.35. I was happily surprised by the texture and overall flavor of the dessert. The crisp and moist feel of the waffle was delicious. The vanilla ice cream was standard tasty, but I liked the strawberry topping and the crunch of the porky.
I took a star away because of the cost and the fact that within a few minutes the waffle got cold and soggy at the bottom because of the ice cream (perhaps I savored the top part too long). I definitely need to try more items on the menu. But, overall a pleasant experience.
