This place is completely awesome. We were visiting from out of town and hadn't had good Southern food in over a year. So glad we found this place this past weekend (Sunday brunch/lunch). We knew it would be a good place when we saw how busy it was and that number of CLT PD was eating here - officers always seem to find the best local spots. It was amazing. I took one look at the menu and was like "Yes, please" - I'll take it all. There were 5 of us and we all had a difficult time deciding. So, we each ordered a variety of things and shared.
The eggs were a litle greasier than I like, but were still good. Pork chops were outstanding - I loved the spices on them. Shrimp and grits were right on. Sweet potato pancakes were solid - and that's saying something since I don't usually like them. The meat lovers omelette was cooked perfectly as was the BBQ omelette. One user commented that the country ham was too salty, but I didn't find that was the case at all. I grew up having that every Sunday and it brought back those memories. The fried chicken wasn't as good as my granny used to make (seriously, who's is?) but. it was very very good.
The biscuits and cornbread were simply amazing - my mouth is watering thinking about that fresh hot cornbread. Absolutely loved it.
Sweet tea about put us in coma - straight sugar; just like it should be!
Service was hectic (place was packed) and could have been more timely to take order, but very friendly, food came out spot on hot and correctly. Drinks were refreshed without having to chase anyone down.
Price/value makes this a great place.
