  • I had to come here to write because I am still upset. I joined the gym with a Groupon Voucher (or something along those lines) for a 30 day pass. The Sales Consultant, Latoya, pushed for me to buy a membership AND 6 personal training sessions, which I did buy. Through a whirlwind of events, I have decided to move out of the country (and have yet to move in about 4 weeks) so of course I had to cancel my membership. Being completely bogged down at work, arranging my move and planning my brother's wedding, it gave me little time for anything so I decided to email the Sales Consultant my situation along with my flight information, work visa application and my address to the apartment I would be renting. I heard absolutely NOTHING from her for a week so I decided to go there after work. I went to the Front Desk Agent and told her I needed to cancel my membership. Given a dirty look, she explains I need to make an appointment. Completely disregarding me, she'd switch from looking at the schedule while helping other people walking into the club. There were at least 2 other people at the desk (which by the way were friendly and asked where I was moving to, but that's besides the point) that could have helped the other people. ANYWAY, at the corner of my eye I see the Sales Consultant I emailed walk by and look my up and down and SUCK HER TEETH while she goes into her office and slams the door. The phone rings at the Front Desk and the Front Desk Agent answers and gets off the phone and tells me that my membership has been canceled already. Baffled by this, I reply that she doesn't even know my name, how does she have this information? But of course, LATOYA, the Sales Consultant, called her from her office saying that she canceled my membership. I was already late for my brother's fiance's dress fitting so I left before I could confront Latoya or speak with a Manager on site. How rude is disrespectful is that? First of all, how hard is it to type several words in an email saying "I canceled your membership" and click send? Second of all, she did walk by me; how hard is it to tell me face to face? If I were not to move, I would have been a loyal customer and member of this gym. Thankfully, I will never have to deal with these people ever again. I do not like to judge companies based on only one location, but Goodlife has definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. I never want to associate myself or refer anyone to this company.
