This is my first experience with the Elks. It's like being transported to a different time and place. We walked through one door and went from a hyper-modern Metropolis to rural small town America. Things slowed down. People smiled and talk to you. I expected rules and found exceptions. It was steak dinner night. We expected bad food. We got huge ribeye steaks, mashed potatoes, corn and roll for $14. And $3.50 for a mixed drink and you're going to be busy for the next half hour. It was delicious! If you're looking for modern, sterile, brightly painted surroundings go downtown. If you're looking for rustic, down home, friendly atmosphere, this seems to be the place!
