  • After wearing glasses for 50 years, I developed cataracts in both eyes. I wanted to be as informed about cataract surgery as possible, so I thoroughly explored all of the ophthalmologists available through my insurance plan as well as others not through my plan. Also, before the surgeries I watched a large number of YouTube videos of cataract surgery and read everything that I could find. I know that having the best eyesight possible is very important to everyone. I work in the legal justice system and having great eyesight for reading was critical to me. Also, I wanted to make sure I received the best care possible. One of my main concerns was my diabetes and how that might affect the needed eye surgery and recovery. I feel very fortunate that I found Dr. Kianoush Kian and the Advanced Laser and Eye Center of Arizona. Dr. Kian thoroughly inspected my eyes and explained the various choices. He and his staff are extremely professional and caring. I elected to proceed with cataract surgery and placement of a premium intraocular lens (IOL) in each eye. Dr. Kian used a Victus laser to correct my astigmatism and near-sightedness and as part of the cataract removal. Impressive results is a complete understatement!! I am now several weeks after surgery and I am 20/20 in each eye! I am able to see very clearly and comfortably. Last weekend I had a fun time selecting some great sunglasses (Maui Jim's). I feel very, very fortunate to have selected Dr. Kianoush Kian and his staff at the Advanced Laser and Eye Center of Arizona.
