| - Waffles Cafe has been on my to go to list for so long. It took a Groupon sale to finally get me over to the shop. At first I was expecting a sit down spot, but it turns out to be concession style. This is good because it keeps the cost down.
The Groupon was good for two specialty waffles and two drinks. My sister had ordered a milk tea boba and the Alexa's; a strawberry waffle, fresh strawberries, strawberry ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate syrup. I got the taro boba and the Yooni's; subbed the original waffle for an organic flax waffle for a dollar, fresh bananas, strawberries, vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream. I found that I liked components of both the waffles, but not the whole. The waffles are amazing. They are just the way I like them, a little dense and cake like. The flavor is superb, but I could not tell if I really got the flax waffle or not. If it was then they use flax meal. The fruit were firm and not slimy. If I got it without the chocolate syrup and whipped cream, I would have been happier. I had the same issue with their boba. I loved the tapioca balls, but the drinks were too sweet.
WaffleS Cafe's strong points are their reasonable prices and the build your own options. The eight different waffles and large array of toppings are only limited by the customer.
