  • I love the Drury brand. Everything they have to offer is quite the amazing deal to come across in a hotel chain. This particular location is beautifully unique. Located in the old Federal Reserve Bank on Grant Street in downtown Pittsburgh, they did an amazing job at utilizing the space. It is conveniently located up the street from both the Greyhound bus station and the Amtrak train station. Within walking distance to many great restaurants, activities and all around great spots in the downtown area. Checking in was a breeze. The front desk is well versed in everything that the hotel has to offer as well as the city. They run through their regular speech that tells you where you can partake in the breakfast and the kickback (which is basically dinner) that is offered free for guests every day. There is also a restaurant/bar located on the mezzanine. On the eighth floor is were the pool is located as well as a rooftop deck? At least that is what I thought they said. The layout of the rooms is a bit confusing which is understandable. Most rooms are clustered in an area around the elevators. However some are located down some winding, sloping hallways, as are vending and ice machines. I assume they did this as to not mess with the floor plan of this older historic building. My room that I had during my stay was a single king bed room. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows to spare. The basic amenities are available in the room; fridge, microwave, iron, ironing board, cable television and so on. The bathroom was spacious and well lit. I was happy to see that not only was it a huge shower, but a walk in one as well. Making it easy for the primping you had to do. Checking out was easy as well. You could just leave your keys in the room or drop them at the front desk on your way out. Other things that are available: guest pantry, valet parking ($29 a day), business center, free WiFi, rear entrance (accessible with room key on William Penn Pl), conference rooms that are housed in the old bank vaults (even if you are not going to use them, go down and marvel at the gigantic metal doors and picture window of the old walls), fitness center, same day dry cleaning, first alcoholic beverage free and up to two more alcoholic drinks for $.75 each with kickback. All in all, this may be my go to hotel if I ever have a reason to stay in downtown Pittsburgh in the future. Oh, one more thing, become of member of their Gold Key club, this is like a loyalty rewards program. This program has some great advantages if you are staying with them.
