  • I rented a car from Budget rental car from July 9th - July 11th. I paid for a two day rental using a coupon discount code prior to picking up the vehicle on July 9th and used a coupon code that was emailed to me from Budget since I use them quite a bit. The clerk (I believe her name is Marliesha) stated that my online discount code was invalid and I would be charged at the regular rate which equated to an additional charge of $14. After leaving the rental place and speaking to customer service I was informed that Marliesha simply charged me for an upgrade. The representative from customer service informed me that sales reps receive commission for upgrades and apologized for this very intentional fraudulent act. The representative I spoke to stated that she would file a complaint on my behalf for these fraudulent practices and refund my cost. The car I was given was absolutely gross. There were white stains in the seats, fingerprint marks all over the radio that I had never used, the cup holders were absolutely disgusting and the floors had never been vacuumed - ever. Again I spoke to customer service and the representative apologized. I was also informed I would receive a $25 credit for the inconvenience. The car was returned on July 11th with a full tank of gas and mileage at time of rental was 31,110. I gave the keys and receipt for gas to attendant. I decided to take a photo of the gas gauge and mileage because I had little to no confidence in the confidence or willingness to not defraud the customer at this location. Today I receive a e-receipt stating that I returned the vehicle with mileage of 31,110 but was charged an additional $81.59 for gas. Please see the photo I took on July 11th that states the car was indeed returned with 31,110 miles and a full gas tank. It is clearly evident this location is willingly committing fraudulent acts to boost sales and commission. I contacted customer service for the 3rd time and was informed my funds would be reimbursed. I still intend to file a formal complaint against this location because these are intentional acts of fraud. If I had not taken this photo I would be charged for bogus charges. This is consumer fraud and it should not be allowed or tolerated. I have tried to call the location several times and have never been able to reach a live representative and customer service reps state they do not have information in regards to who the manager of this location is. To date I have not received reimbursement for my charges (neither $14, $25, or charges for gas mileage) although promised by customer service representative.
