  • I own an older one story condo unit that is 736 square feet. My tenant is a senior citizen and disabled and was without heat on Friday Feb 23rd. I couldn't get a hold of anyone at my HOA to find a reputable air and heating company. I contacted Goettel Air Company. On the positive side, the technician that came out Saturday Feb 24th was very nice. The service evaluation fee was reasonable. He determined that the unit on the roof was beyond repair and that I needed a new unit. He called his supervisor to explain the situation. He had the supervisor on speaker phone. The supervisor was quoting me $9,000 to $12,000 for a new two ton gas pack unit. I told the technician that there was no way I could afford an expense like this. I overheard the supervisor saying "Check her credit." I then told the technician, "I am not going to finance anything like this." When the technician explained to the supervisor that I could not afford this he said he would look in the warehouse to see if there was a rebuilt unit or a unit that was returned. He would call me in 30 minutes time. The supervisor did NOT call me in 30 minutes time. Here's the bottom line, the quote from Goettl Air for a new 2 ton was ridiculously insane. I goggled several other companies and I found an established company with a great reputation for a price of $4,200.00. Everytime the radio commercial comes on for Goettel and Sunny The Plumber I turn it off now. They advertise way too much. And that's why they charge so much for new units. Someone has to pay for that advertising. I highly recommend that you do not use Goettl.
