  • I have bought a lot of cars in my life, several of them Jeeps. I have taken apart almost every part of various years of Jeeps and put them all back together. I've wheeled them in several states, broken them, fixed them, broken them again. I know my Jeeps. I am often asked by friends and family to take a peek at a Jeep and give them an idea on whether or not it's a good price, well maintained, etc. My father in law was in town from Indiana and fell in love with a four door Wrangler Unlimited that was on their lot. I said I would check it out for him and let him know my thoughts. At first glance, it was a really nice looking Jeep and seemed to be well cared for. A salesman come up and asked if he could help but I said I was looking for my father in law and he knew that he wasn't going to get the sale so he was a total butthole from that moment forward. I know that you aren't going to get commission for the sale but seriously dude...help your co-worker out a little bit here. One day you may need help. So he got the key for me and while he was making a copy of my license (I was going to test drive it) I started the Jeep. If you know the JKs or Jeeps, they sometimes have some transmission problems. About a second after starting it I heard the fatal "clump" associated with several tranny problems. I knew right then it wasn't the right Jeep but I kept looking around. The front differential was leaking (not a big deal) and I could tell that a few recalls hadn't been performed on the Jeep as well. When the sales dude came back, I said that I didn't need to drive it as there were several problems. His response was basically, OK, that's fine...someone else will come buy this POS Jeep. That makes me a little mad because you never know, someone who buys this Jeep could get killed if the recalls aren't completed (in particular the recall associated with a fender well rubbing through a brake line). He didn't care. He was a jerk and started yelling at me saying I didn't (and I quote), "know what the f$%k I am talking about." Yeah, they're the reason people hate buying cars. Dishonest. Horrible customer service. Their lot only had about 30 cars in it so you think they would be begging for customers but this guy couldn't care less. So, avoid them. They suck.
