  • If you are considering a gas heater for your pool or spa, please read this first before deciding on gas. This is what I typed onto the Arizona Corporation Commission Consumer Complaint Form: I contacted Southwest Gas on 28 October at 11:31 a.m. to schedule a hook-up of a gas heater for my pool. They scheduled the hook-up for 9 November. We were disappointed that we had to wait 12 days for an appointment. I waited at home all day on 9 November. at 3:13 p.m., I called Southwest Gas to find out when their technicians were planning to show up. After waiting on hold for five minutes, I left my number, and they returned my call at 3:22 p.m. I was informed that the technicians would call me one hour before they arrived. They never called, and they never arrived. I called Southwest Gas this morning at 9:10 a.m. They told me that their technicians did call one hour before their 6:00 p.m. arrival, but didn't get through to my phone. (There is no record on my phone of this call, the phone never rang, and they did not leave a message.) I was also informed that the technicians were unable to get through my neighborhood security gate at 6:00 p.m., but nobody at Southwest Gas could tell me why the technicians did not call me when they were at the security gate. They then informed me that the earliest appointment they could give me would be Friday, 12 November. So, now it will be a total of 14 days from the time I first called before I can get an appointment, I will spend another full day waiting at home for a technician to show up, and I have absolutely no confidence that they will, in fact, show up. I'm very, very disappointed in this public utility and their lack of customer service. I also sent the above to Southwest Gas via their online contact form, and added that if they could get someone out here today, I wouldn't send the complaint to the Corporation Commission. I got an auto-response saying that they would respond within three business days. Considering that tomorrow is a holiday, that gives them until next Wednesday at 10 a.m. to respond to me (one week).
