I was there on 6/17 for a lumbar puncture. The doctor during the lumbar puncture was singing to Don McLean's American Pie. I love that song but the line, "...this will be the day that I die," while she was working the needle into my spine I was afraid was foreshadowing. I ending up with a nasty blinding spinal headache and back at the hospital 6/21. I went to checkin bawling because I was in pain and I needed to lay flat but need to wait my turn so I was expected to sit in a chair until I was called. I tried to level myself out by spreading across two chairs and made the admissions girl aware of my condition. I just needed to hurry up and get to my procedure to fix my condition and start to mend. For some reason they decide to have someone come scoop me up and move me over to the er side of the hospital. I know what is wrong with me. I am there to fix it. So they put me in a hard uncomfortable chair and wheel me over to the er. Er dr asks me what is going on. Once I am laying flat I catch my breath and say I don't know why I was brought here. I was just trying to checkin for an appointment for a blood patch. She says ok there is nothing I can do for you. Not sure why you are here. I'll get you to your appointment. Now I get a bill from the physician in the mail. I understand the hospital says they are not responsible for the bill the er doctor is sending but I am beyond upset because I never should have been sent over there. The admissions staff should have better assessed the situation and just got me upstairs to my appointment. I was in blinding pain saying repeatedly I need to get to my appointment. Now I have a er physician bill for a doctor saying yep I cannot do anything for you let me have someone get you upstairs to your appointment.
