Looks like a family owned place and unassuming. Frequented by a lot of asians - so I figured it had to be good. Tried the place 3 times, close to my house and I REALLY wanted to like it. Tried it with 3 different groups - co-workers, family and friends. None are willing to comeback.
Service - not too rude, till you have to deal with the son. Too much attitude, eyeliner and absolutely no customer service. Although I did get much better service when came in with an asian male. Is this the typical japanese attitude toward women? Food was still mediocre to yucky.
Quality of food -- not very fresh and very cheap ingredients. The fish was obviously refrigerated for too long. Too much msg. The nori rolls are a rip-off. Even after pointing out to the staff that only half of the roll contained the crab, they chose not to do anything to remedy the situation. Seriously? How the hell do they keep customers?
Ambiance -- not much, seemed family friendly till we came back with the family. The waitress was unaccomodating with miserable attitude toward the kids. The kids hated the place and were not impressed with the food. And they both love sushi.
Overall, suprised that so many asians frequent them or that they are still in business. Shocked by the glowing reviews.
