  • If you are looking for a veterinary clinic in Calgary who will treat your pets like their own, look no further. Please let Properties give your animals the care they deserve. We are compelled to write a follow up review after going through some major events with the Properties Animal Clinic team. Over the past year, we lost our oldest dog Hurricane to cancer and had Tsunami, our not-so-little great dane puppy, spayed. The staff at Properties have not let us down. In the case of losing a cherished and long time pet, they were compassionate and kind throughout the ordeal. Hurricane had severe fear-based aggression issues and Dr Morley was patient and understanding of the underlying reasons behind his behaviour. We were always given the time Hurri needed to calm down and never felt like he was being treated like a horrible, vicious animal (although that's often how he came across). We were encouraged be present to assist in soothing Hurri while Shannon patiently took blood samples between his fearful fits. When the heartbreaking time came to let our darling boy go, we felt well informed of our options and in control of the very difficult decision. Even though it is part of their job, the Properties team shared our sadness - it didn't feel routine or clinical. It was the peaceful, respectful and honourable goodbye our treasured family member deserved. In the more positive situation of spaying our giant breed girl Tsunami, we were afforded numerous opportunities to ask questions (sometimes the same ones over and over) until we were confident that we were making the right decision about the health and well being of our pooch. We decided to have Dr Morley perform an elective procedure in addition to the spay which had the potential to complicate things, but would benefit Tsunami in the long run. We were scared. The Properties team reassured us with their knowledge and confidence. Again, they surpassed our hopes and expectations. Tsunami is safely sleeping off her surgery at home with us as I write this. We were kept abreast of her progress throughout the procedure, which kept our nerves at bay. There was no need for concern. We are so grateful. It's rare to find a medical team who manages to avoid making the care they provide feel "clinical". While there is no lack of professionalism and competence, the Properties team is genuinely invested in the care of our pets. There are not enough good things we can say about the high level of care we receive from Properties Animal Clinic. Specifically Dr Morley, Shannon and Emily - thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We trust you implicitly and that is priceless to us, just like our four-legged children are!
