Crispy Crepe is in the heart of the South End (one of my favorite areas in Charlotte) and I am a sucker for outdoor seating. My bestie and I thought we'd try something new so Crispy Crepe it was. I was really excited after reviewing the menu, but I couldn't decide if I wanted sweet or savory so I ordered the Smoked salmon, egg and herb goat cheese Crepe and my friend ordered the Cookie Butter Waffle and we split each dish to satisfy our palette. The food was delicious HOWEVER the service was not the best. We chose to sit outside since it was a beautiful day. The waitress was prompt in coming to our table, explaining the menu and the food arrived to our table in a timely manner. Towards the end of our meal, another waitress arrives to our table and aggressively says "So are you guys ready for your check or what?" I was a little taken back by her tone and the fact that she was coming to our table without announcing why she was coming to our table at all. It gave me the impression that she was rushing us and not to mention she was rude. I guess my expression said everything because she quickly corrected herself explaining that our waitress was occupied and sent her over to ask if we were ready for our checks. I think it's important to teach your staff the importance of tone and delivery. It's not what you say but how you say it. That one incident partially spoiled my overall brunch experience...nevertheless the food was good and I still recommend trying Crispy Crepes.
