  • Worst car rental company ever, I regret that I didn't read the reviews before making a reservation. My friend and I reserved a car for the long weekend in October more than two weeks in advance. When we arrived at YUL airport, we were told that E-Z Rent-A-Car was located offsite, and we would have to take a free shuttle to get there. We waited a long time for the shuttle to arrive, and because the stop is shared with many other companies, we double checked with the driver of a different shuttle service to make sure that we were waiting in the right place. When he heard that we were heading to E-Z Rent-A-Car, he said, "Yes, this is the right stop. They drive a Dodge Caravan with a piece of paper taped to the windshield that says "E-Z Rent-A-Car". We were already questioning their authenticity as a company when he added, "Make sure you read your rental agreement with that company very carefully. We used to shuttle customers there, but my boss ended our contract with them because the owner is a bad business owner. We don't drive there anymore." The shuttle never arrived, so we called the company to check when the next one was coming. After getting their voicemail 5 times (a generic voicemail, not a company voicemail, so I was wondering if I was even phoning the right place), they finally picked up. We were told that, even though we had reserved, all the cars had been rented out, and there was nothing they could do. They suggested that I call rentalcars.com to get a refund on my insurance payment, and hung up. Thank goodness for National Car Rental, or we would have had to cancel our entire trip, and lose the money that we spent on the hotel! While we were in line at National, we ran into two other people who had been screwed over by E-Z Rent-A-Car that morning! This company is a scam, with horrible customer service, and terrible organization.
