| - This primarily about working for Party Place...
but first the store, store is great! Clean, organized, blooms are stocked, the costumes are stocked and nice, the ladies I worked with were nice welcoming and helpful. (5 stars)
Now the employment standpoint: I found the job off of indeed.com a few days after it was posted. I answered the questions and received an email asking to come in for an application fill out. I zoomed there, filled it out, went for an interview, they said they were looking for someone to start on Monday (my interview was o. Thursday) didn't hear anything so I checked back with Lorie (manager) bc I was told it was her decision. She didn't even know who the hell I was, so I called back talked to the person I interviewed with and boom got the job... not full time I was promised but part time (I accepted thinking it was like 20 hour instead of 35+) wrong it's 12-14 covering 2 days... it was costing me more to get there than to work. I worked 3 days over 2 weeks... and they expected you to remember a lot in between. I'm sorry but if you hire someone you should do a few consecutive days so that they can remember things.
I quit after my 3rd day. The manager (lorie) is not very welcoming, strict, and intimidating. I ended up in tears one after my anxiety got too high and basically she threatened to fire me over that. Pulled me a side and said "are you going to get your emotions in check or so I have a hard decision on my hands." What a bitch!
I've worked retail for 14 years and have had intimidating bosses before but Lorie takes the cake.
After I came home in tears on the 3rd day it took my husband 3 hours to calm me down. I had my hubs come in with me when I quit just incase Lorie was there. I was shaking walking into the store
We have called the Lorain base corporate and filed a complaint. Unless your a cold heartless bastard or hard ass this is not a good place to work.... in sure the SS guards at ashuwitz were this mean as Lorie! Not an exaggeration!
