July 2 2017: I just drove by the Pete and Macs facility on Elliot. Its 1:30 in the afternoon, its 109 degrees.
I see a person with dark Red shirt on that says DOG TRAINER in big yellow letters on the back with a White Shepard on a lead, he is standing under a tree in the shade, BUT then proceeds to walk west along the sidewalk in the dirt/gravel towards the train tracks....no protection on the dogs feet at all.
I am not sure if they thought that because they were not on the sidewalk that it was ok, but its not, dogs can sustain soft tissue damage/burns in less than 60 seconds on any hot surface, dirt/sand/gravel can be as bad concrete or asphalt.
I don't know what their policy is for walking dogs in the heat, but if they did this with my dogs, even for a short period of time i would be livid.
I called and spoke with the girl at the desk and she seemed less than concerned, i had to make a stop and returned in about 10 minutes but didn't see the person so hopefully he returned quickly.
