I had a really good time here when I visited a few weeks ago. I was looking for a good spot to hang out with an old friend and catch up where the focus wouldn't be entirely on drinking - I know, a tough thing to find in Toronto's Entertainment district where the impetus is to either drinking or eating. This isn't to say that there wasn't drinking or eating available at Roxy but we came for the Pool.
Fair warning if you're looking to hit this place up, even on an off night like a Tuesday or Wednesday, call ahead and book your table. There are only 6 or 7 tables and when I called to check if they took bookings, they responded Yes and that they only had one table left.
If you're wondering where Roxy On King is located, it's on King W, duh) right next to the Royal Alexandra Theatre - if you hit Shoeless Joe's you've gone too far. In fact, if you remember the quasi-famous smoked meat deli/restaurant Dunns, Roxy has taken over their space.
The beer selection was mostly the big 2 out of the big 3 (Molson, Labatt) but the selection seemed to be pretty generous. The cost for the table is $24/hour which is not bad but not cheap - but consider the neighbourhood.
A nice alternative to the hustle and bustle of KSW (King Street West) and definitely a spot I can see myself returning to.
