| - I've stayed in some very fancy hotels in my past, including the Park Hyatt in Yorkville. You can imagine, then, my disappointment, when I was greeted so rudely by a Hyatt associate upon my arrival after a four-hour train ride. Ageism at its best. Next, she took my credit card to charge $655, when our reservation only totaled $505.11 CAD, saying it was an authorization charge. She also mentioned a $25/day fee for each additional person beyond 2. She then would not refer me to a manager. Naturally, I told her I was disappointed in her lack of customer service skills.
I spoke with a manager who dealt with the problem quite well, however, I'm not so sure how satisfied I am overall. I think that next time I come to Toronto, I'll resort to trusted hotels like Fairmont Royal York, Harbour Castle, or the Park Hyatt.
