I have heard raving reviews for this place and was excited to check out what all the hype was about. We had a group of 4 and the wait was about 15 minutes on a Sunday around 1pm. Not a bad wait for brunch at such a popular spot! There was corn hole and shuffleboard out front to help pass the time. All tables on the patio had umbrellas for some shade and relief from the heat. I was excited to see that "seasonal" coffee flavors (i.e. gingerbread, pumpkin, peppermint, etc.) are served year round. Always added points in my book!
I must admit I was a little disappointed with my meal. I ordered a basic create your own omelet with turkey bacon, mushrooms, spinach and cheese. When my plate came out, I had an omelet with a TON (never thought you could have too much, but it was pushing it) of turkey bacon and cheese only. I was told that they ran out of spinach and mushrooms, but was not informed until I was served something other than what I ordered. I understand that later in the day you run the risk of running out of ingredients. However, you would expect the courtesy of being notified before they prepare your meal so that you can change your order accordingly. It was rather underwhelming.
Two of the others in our group had been before and highly recommended there. One had ordered a chicken sandwich that she previously had gotten and loved and was a little disappointed this time.. so maybe the restaurant was just having an all around off day. Another in our party got the bunny rancheros which they were very happy with. That seems to be their tried and true menu item. The biscuits and seasoned potatoes (side dish) were very tasty!
