| - I will start this review by saying I will never ever return to this so-called resort! My girlfriend and I planned a nice NYE vacation to get away from the hustle and bustle. When making this reservation we knew it would not be a Las Vegas type resort, which was totally ok with us as we like the mountain/nature feel. Now let's start with this review:
Upon checking in we were greeted by Becca who was great throughout this entire nightmare of a stay. To start there are no elevators or help to get all your bags. Not a huge deal as I'm a man and can carry my girlfriends and my own bags. Just a note for those expecting this. Walked into rooms which are extremely outdated and stale smelling. (Note this is a Siegel Property and they have money to remodel). Bathroom has 2 towels(big enough to dry an infant), 2 wash clothes(more like dish cloths), and a floor that was just gross(socks black from walking in room).
Next we went to the bar and waited for the bartender to even acknowledge we were there(only 2 other people in bar and only seats 14), bartender had zero knowledge of anything. Breasts hanging out, hair pulled back and greasy looking. Kinda looked like she was on drugs. Had a few drinks before we headed up to get ready for this 4 course NYE dinner that was part of the package they offered.
We got ready and headed down for our 7pm seating as there was a 5pm and a 7pm. They had us waiting along with everyone else for that seating(full house) until 7:55pm with not a single employee saying sorry or offering anything to drink while waiting. Finally got sat and then the nightmare began! 2 waiters for a full house? Food and Beverage manager(Rich) waiting tables? No service for over 20 mins. Food was wrong(this is a pre-set menu) more than twice, food looked like it was from 5pm seating. In a nutshell we couldn't eat and didn't get out if this dinner until 10:30.
Went next door for this "NYE" party, which the bartender was, you guessed, Food and beverage manager! We made the best of it and brought in the new year. Upon trying to pay my tab, 2 couples started fighting, pushing and shoving, woman punches guy in the face. Guy throws wine in bartenders face, we finally pay and head to room to get away.
We get to our room and start getting ready for bed. Then all hell breaks loose!! Those same people from the party downstairs start fighting in our hall. Punches being thrown, women screaming so loud you could hear it outside and on the 3rd floor. Kids crying for help. Men running up and down the halls fighting with each other. Women still cussing and screaming up and down the halls. Open my door to see what's going on and it's chaos!! Woman screams in my direction and I close my door. Then a woman starts kicking in our hotel room door, putting holes in it!! Tried calling front desk for help, no answer! Try calling 911 from hotel phone, can't call 911 from hotel phone. Grab cellphone to call 911, no service! This has been going on for almost an hour! No security?!?! No staff?!?! Finally after an hour and a half, metro decides to show. Note, metro has a station 3 mins from hotel. Things finally calm at 4am and we try to sleep. Was told we could talk to manager Robert at 3pm the next day.
Next morning we wake up and go down to breakfast. After not getting to eat or even able to stomach the food they served the night before, we were starving! Took 10 mins to get seated. Gal that finally sat us looked like she was still drunk from the night before and moved at a snails pace. We sit at table for 25 mins before anyone greets us. Our waiter Jim(hasn't showered or groomed in over a month) took our order, waited another 40 mins to get our breakfast(eggs, pancakes, biscuits and gravy). 12 min cook time max considering it was us and 3-4 other tables. Food finally comes out and it's ice cold! A film over my gravy, room temp butter won't even melt on pancakes, no one comes to check on us for another 20mins. Had to go to front desk and ask Becca to help us. Then Jim came over, we told him the issue, he walks away?! Really?! Becca handles clearing our plates and gets us new food. We eat what we could and leave.
We head out after breakfast to go hit the snow. After hours of snow time we head back to hotel. It's about 4 pm at this time. We get back to our room and low and behold, our room is still not cleaned! We are wet and cold and just wanted to shower. We had 7 bags of linens lined up by our door going down the hall. But our room, no. Call down to Robert and ask him to come to our room to see the damage to door and discuss the night before and to show the room hadn't been cleaned. Robert then says he has no authority to do anything about our door being kicked in, nothing about our dinner, and that the director of operations Chris Trout would contact us directly. We were supposed to stay another night but at this point we had enough and told them we will not be staying. No word from Mr. Trout and no response to our emails.
