| - Since I haven't had the pleasure of booking with Deacon, my review is written from my consultation dealings with this company.
I was referred to his company by another photographer. Since I had just started looking for a photographer for my engagement shoot, I was looking for quotes and what not. When I called, his business partner was very sweet and helpful. She gave me a great price and answered any questions that I had. The only problem that arose in this conversation was that they were unwilling to shoot my photos on the Las Vegas strip, claiming it was illegal. My fiance has been working in Vegas as a performer for about 6 years now and he has never once been stopped from having professional photos taking in front of any hotel. Needless to say, that was a deal breaker for me with this company.
I thought that was the end of my dealings with them, until today I went on Facebook..
Deacon had commented on a wall post that I was tagged in (the initial photographer who wanted to refer me to his business in this wall post), stating this:
"I definitely appreciate the referral brother!
However, her comments "we're not a 'sappy' couple" (good luck with the romantic and sappy business of getting married) and "we're still holding out hope for this other photographer" (who did not reply to her emails or telephone calls for two weeks) will literally go down in history as two of the worst comments anyone has ever said to us in a consultation. Her lack of enthusiasm when asked if she had seen/liked our work is a VERY close third.
If it was me on the phone rather than Sarah, I likely would have asked why she wasted our time calling us and promptly hung up the phone"
- This was also followed by defriending and getting blocked
First of all, excuse me for not jumping up and down with excitement to book you when your company refuses to shoot at my desired location.
This was probably one of the most unprofessional things I have seen posted from a business about a potential client. It's one thing to say it over the phone to someone, but to post such a nasty comment like this in a public forum is just plain rude. Luckily, there are sites like Yelp where customers can also post comments in a public forum. I feel very lucky to have found out how he likes to handle business before I called back.
While I can say he is a very talented photographer with BEAUTIFUL photos, I feel that business ethics are just as important as how the photos look.
