| - I really hate to give the Flamingo 1 star, but it has gotten worse each time that we have visited (4+ times). Time to finally write the review...
Staff at the Flamingo: Although friendly, do very little in terms of comps (hotel, shows, food, etc). Don't expect much if anything from them.
Casino drink service: This is the largest disappointment in my eyes. When I think of Vegas, I think of gambling, shows and booze. If I walk into a casino and put down a good amount of money to play a table game, am I expecting too much to ask that a cocktail waitress come around every 15 minutes or so to offer drinks? I always tip as well, so I don't think it is that... I just think that the casino has cut down on the number of waitresses so much that they are stretched way too thin. I think it is now cheaper to buy your own alcohol off of the strip and mix your own drinks in your room. This is a shame because that was a really fun part about a "weekend in Vegas!"
Hotel: This hotel is currently doing renovations on some rooms. The rooms that are not being remodeled are definitely showing their age. The room was very clean (thanks to housekeeping!) but the fixtures in the bathroom as well as the general feel of the room (curtains, headboards, counter tops) need some TLC.
In order to not be a completely negative review, I will say that the Flamingo does have a habitat garden with LIVE flamingos in it! They are awfully cute and there were a bunch one time when we were there. Definitely worth paying a visit to!
However, with that being said, we will not be returning to Flamingo unless I see a big turnaround in the Yelp reviews... I feel as if I have given them few too many chances to earn my business at this point!
