  • I read these reviews and I wonder what people are seeing. I took my cat here in August of last year because I suspected he was being overmedicated with Methimazole by another vet. Dr. Wood saw him and seemed to clear things up. My cat did not like physical exams, and he could be rough, so I told her that one time to let him be. Well, every month he had blood work to check his kidney and T4 values, and sometimes we did everything else too. He was FIV pos and he had anemia. By November, he was still losing weight, and still had a huge appetite. I told her this and the techs and they just their expressions were "hmm" (?) At the time, I did not think cancer would be doing that because of his appetite. Dr. Wood never physically examined him, which I should have demanded, and the tech was unnecessarily rough with him when he was scruffed. His anemia was worse in November, and nothing was done to investigate why. Well, in January, his abdomen filled up with fluid. Dr. Grant saw him and told me he had cancer. Probably Lymphoma, and this was without anything but an x-ray. I had to literally beg him to physically examine my cat and he felt a growth. I pursued further diagnostics and he had cancer of unknown origin. I am upset because in November something was happening and it was not addressed. Dr. Wood said that we were trying to balance the thyroid medicine and maybe my cat did not adjust to it just yet, enough to gain weight, so I accepted that. However, when his anemia got worse that was a sign of something else, because his kidneys did not seem to be getting worse. I had to euthanize my best friend in February. I just do not understand how a vet hospital could be negligent like this. I know he had many problems, but there is no justification for what happened. Just only that no one cared. I know the result would have been the same, but maybe I could have had more time with him. I also do not know what they have against physical exams, but even his other vet would try, and he would cooperate at some point, either at that time or the next. Physical exams should be part of protocol no matter the circumstances. As a pet parent you have to think of Everything. I did not know that cancer could make a pet very hungry. I keep blaming myself because I trusted these people. I would think twice before doing that again with any vet.
