| - Oh, man...where to begin?
1) Reserved a king, got two queen beds.
2) Very basic room, no artwork on the walls, and we had an awesome view of the dumpster. (At least, there was a working mini-fridge.)
3) Could hear people walking in the room above us.
4) AC wasn't working correctly (told at check out that pipes freeze when AC is set below 72 degrees...how is anyone supposed to know that?!)
5) Phone in our room was completely dead. I consider that a safety issue. I was told they're aware of it and that their IT folks are "waiting on a part."
6) Our TV had three remotes and no instructions on how to use them. One press on the wrong key and you're done, TV doesn't work. Had to go to the front desk to have someone come to the room to resolve it.
7) The large towels in the bathroom are only big enough to dry a child. These are not full-sized adult towels. (On the plus side, the shower controls are easy to operate and the water pressure is excellent.)
8) THERE IS NO WIFI! (Front desk acknowledged that whatever WiFi they have is very bad and very unreliable...so why even advertise it?!)
9) THERE IS NO SPA! (There used to be one, but no longer...so maybe they should change their brochures and advertising.)
10) And, for all this, THEY HAVE THE GALL TO CHARGE A RESORT FEE OF $12/DAY! So, essentially, you're paying $12/day to watch TV in your room, and they're passing the cost of their Dish TV subscription directly to the customer. (A subsequent call to them revealed that the resort fee covers the use of the internet --which is non-existent-, the cost of the complimentary bottled water in your room, and because they're not on city water. Seriously...I'm not making this shit up!)
11) Their "general store" consists of a very small coffee bar, which also sells some t-shirts, sodas, chips, and a few toiletries (toothpaste, aspirin, etc.). Because there's no store for at least 20 miles, they have you by the proverbial balls...$3 for a soda or coffee, $2 for a 1.5-oz bag of chips, etc.
12) The two desktop computers that are available to guests in the general store have such an outdated Windows OS that they're essentially unusable.
13) Very uneven service in the restaurant. Severely understaffed at breakfast (NOT the servers' fault) or the food arrives all at once at dinner (salad and entree at the same time...again, not the servers' fault).
The only positive is that the place has a duck pond with a fountain at the front of the building.
AVOID THIS PLACE. NOT RECOMMENDED.
