I have been going to this dog park for about two months now, and in that two months I have seen and experienced a few of the most strange and heartbreaking things...
1. A woman continually tackled her dog to the ground and punched it over and over again when it was trying to play with other dogs.
2. I've watched a group of people pretend like they were leaving their dog in the fenced area while it cries and yelps while they were laughing at he/she.
3. A hound dog attacked my puppy while I was trying to leave the park one evening and the owner just stared, leaving me to try and figure out how to intervene. (This should have been my last straw)
4. A man lifted his dog all the way off the ground to his face by his collar(basically strangling it) till it yelped for running towards a patch of mud.
5. (This did it for me) A dog attacked my puppy, while my puppy was being attacked and screaming/yelping the owner ran over with a LACROSSE stick and began to beat his dog only making the situation worse. While comforting my puppy, someone came up to help me because my pup wouldn't even move he was so scared. The owners didn't even apologize. And then their dog went after another dog. My puppy is traumatized now.
All in all, the dog park is nice, big, and it's pretty clean. And there its separated by big dog/little dog. There is a lot of parking. There are some nice people there with good conversation and that will share their dogs water with you. It's a hit or miss with the types of people and dogs you encounter. Most are nice, but as you can see I've seemed to have a lot of bad experiences.
Be safe at the dog park, and watch your dog like a hawk since there seems to be so many aggressive dogs at this park.
