| - When calling, they quoted $20 for the dispatch following a varying cost starting at $15 for the complexity of the lock.
My truck is a 1990 vehicle. The solution that they provided was to stick a plastic wedge into the side of my door, pry it open, and reach in and pull the lock up.
That cost $70. That is $45 dollars of "locksmithing," indicating that this was a highly complex lock. It may be the most misleading pricing I have ever experienced.
I assume that this is Travis (lead technician) and his girlfriend running a side business out of their basement.
I would like to tell them that that is awesome, and I love the hustle! However, the execution of their business has brought me frustration, dissatisfaction, and anger. I am a very unhappy customer.
Here are some things that they did well:
1) Travis did provide tips on how to avoid this in the future and what to do if it happens again.
2) they were pretty prompt, about 25 minutes.
3) both Travis and the person on the phone were fairly nice.
Here are some simple things that can improve the business and lead to 5 star rankings:
1) Be upfront about the price and provide an accurate quote from the start.
You knew what model the vehicle was, you should have told me the estimated price on the phone.
2) Come looking professional. Wear a branded shirt.
3) Guys... snow is not a valid reason to raise the price, we live in Wisconsin.
4) repeat number 1. The pricing needs to improve. Be transparent about what is included in the cost.
I hope this helps!
