| - My girlfriend and I signed up for this gym together a few months prior to it being open (during "phase 1" signups). I purchased the top level package for both of us to have access to everything (pool, cinema room, etc.). The sign up process is mediocre at best, and the membership sales employees didn't seem to know exactly what the pricing structure was and left out a bit of information (more on this later).
While we patiently waited over the next couple months for this gym to finish construction and be open, I was contacted frequently via phone and email to sign up before prices increase during phase 2 and phase 3 signup periods. I had to explain multiple times that I was already a member of the club. I found this quite unprofessional of EoS that they were unable to identify their own members, even after being reminded multiple times.
The gym itself has decent equipment, a large aerobic room, small/medium sized lap pool, and average locker rooms. Given their attractive monthly membership pricing they seem to attract a decent amount of members, so you can expect wait times for majority of the commonly used equipment (row machines, benches, free weights, etc). I'm sure this is dependent on the time of day you prefer to workout as is common with most gyms. Lastly, they don't have any type of "self-service" entry. You have to physically hand them your membership card every single time you enter the club (a bit of an annoyance).
Flash forward to current day, I have now decided to cancel our memberships as we are members of a different club that is better suited for us. EoS claims they do not do in-club cancellations, but instead use a third party to manage membership accounts so they direct us to contact them. It takes almost ten minutes for them to pull up my account, because EoS didn't properly enter our house address (surprise, surprise). What they didn't tell us when we signed up is that there will be a $15 cancellation "processing fee." This is a bogus fee and just another way for this gym to make another few dollars off of you before you can depart. I agree to just pay the fee (in addition to the final months bill cycle) and cancel my membership only to realize they won't let me cancel my now fiancé's membership on her behalf (even though it's on the same account as mine and they are charged on the same card and bill cycle). It is clearly visible to them that her name is on my account, but EoS only listed me as an authorized payer, and said I do not have the authorization to cancel her membership. Not only do they tell me she has to call and cancel herself, but they are also assessing another $15 cancellation "processing fee." I did confirm that this was a fee charged by the gym and not something the third party membership account management company was charging.
If cheap monthly memberships, average gym equipment, hidden cancellation fees, and an unprofessional staff are what you seek in a gym, then look no further than EoS Fitness.
