| - I lived in an apartment rented by this company happily for about two years. Never had a problem with the company, however, I do not recommend this business due to the dishonest monetary dealings I have had with them in recent weeks.
Upon move-out, we were told that we could break the lease early by paying a fee, and would only be responsible for the rent until someone moved in. A new tenant moved in on the 10th, however we were not informed and were charged the full month. We paid it because we didn't know we shouldn't.
When we realized we overpaid, we called. We were assured our money. We did not receive it. I called practically every day for weeks. It was excuse after excuse after excuse.
Finally, today, they informed me they had a check for me, for four hundred dollars less than they had quoted. This was due to charges incurred for repairs after move-out.
My issue is not with the move-out charges, but rather with the management feeling that they didn't need to inform us of them. They took our money and would have kept it, dishonestly, if I hadn't complained loudly enough. We moved out over a month ago and were never told of any charges until today, when I contacted them and not the other way around.
I don't for a minute believe that they would have given the money back in any kind of timely manner. I received little to no apologies, and there was absolutely no initiative on their part to deal with the issue.
Downtown Phoenix Rentals held my money for longer than was okay or necessary, and is not a place that I would suggest to anybody in Arizona.
