  • Really lovely event. I brought along a friend and we immediately headed for a cup of sangria each and settled in to the corner of the room where we could catch the doomed Pirates wildcard playoff game. Like others have said, the food was straight-on BANGIN'. My favorites of the night, by far, were the candied jalapeño sliders and the shrimp 'n' grits. They were legit spicy, and not just "Pittsburgh spicy". However, I also observed, as others have, that the logistics were a bit challenging with the servers having to weave their way back and forth across the floor space to serve the food, which usually meant that by the time they got back to where my friend and I were sitting, they didn't quite have enough to go around for everyone. Which is completely understandable when you are passing food on trays, however, I agree with others who said that perhaps a buffet would have been easier for the setup of the space. And the space itself was really nice, especially the adorable back porch. Benjamin's is deceptively large! Despite some of the logistical challenges, I would definitely come back and try a full on meal and beers here. Thanks for hosting!
