  • I finally made it to A Christmas Story House and Museum. It took a visit from my in-laws to go though. We started out in the gift shop where we perused the pricey merchandise and then bought tickets. Eight minutes later, the tour started. We were led across the street to the house. I enjoyed the tour of the house and seeing the leg lamp, the Red Ryder BB gun, the famous kitchen, and the bar of Lifebouy soap. I noticed the kitchen in the house is different from the kitchen in the movie, so I wondered if a different set was used for the kitchen scenes. I know they had rearranged the kitchen, but the doorways and furnace control did not exist in this kitchen, as they did in the movie. It was still fun nonetheless. The museum was cool too, with its movie set artifacts. There were some really nice items in there, including the original Red Ryder BB gun, which is probably worth a ton of money. I was especially interested in how the director tricked some of the actors by giving them different versions of the movie script. After learning about the tongue on pole scene and the Chinese restaurant scene, I watched these scenes again when I returned home. They were extra funny when watched from a different perspective. My in-laws really liked A Christmas Story House and the movie and now they can take a piece of Cleveland history home with them to Puerto Rico.
