| - Oh boy...this place. I feel like every time I eat here I have to train for it. I always go with the same crew and we always plan to come here at least a day in advance in order to keep our bellies at bay until we dive into the buffet. So far, every time I've come here, there's been no wait and the buffet lines were short, if there was any at all. Seafood was the freshest I've ever had in the Pittsburgh area and trust me, I took advantage of every piece of seafood they have. Hokkaido houses an impressive amount of food ranging from New York steak to fresh crab legs and oysters. I would avoid the steak though, it looks a bit tough and shriveled as does the Peking duck. I do however, recommend their crab legs and octopus covered in a tasty sriracha sauce in addition to their coffee ice cream.
As for ambience, it's well lit and clean. Music choices can be a bit confusing, but I always find that to be an excellent conversational point. One thing that does irk me about this place is the waitstaff. They constantly hover around the tables, snatching plates and glasses away from you. Especially when it comes to receiving the check, I always feel like I'm being rushed out of the place...but don't think I'll rush out, it's all you can eat and I intend to eat all that I can!
Bottom line: For $17.99, you can eat anything and everything here. I highly recommend this buffet, it's worth every penny!
